When it comes to painting I’m still doing it a bit chaotically- I’m still trying to figure out my way of doing it. And the painting You asked about it’s actually a perfect example of “mindlessly chaotic” painting. These were called “evning sketches” for a reason xD. I’m usually pretty tired after classes (and I’m a morning kind of person). I started with a lineart and an overall vision of composition with reflection in the water.
Then I take a huge brush and paint under it- trying to create decent contrast and mix colors and vary them as much as I can so I won’t have to worry about it later. It’s the part when I’m doing everything a bit intuitively.
I added a reflection by copying upper part of the picture. But the majority of this painting was done on the “underpaint” layer. And bo be honest the painting is rather quick, I just captured this idea I wanted to show and wasn’t bother to work on details. I consider myself a painter who is “in progress” and I myself would be glad to take some advice and critiqe) I find it a bit hard to explain the process itself, every time I’m trying to take a bit different approach. But I can share progress shots more often (they would explain more than this “quick-sketch-painting” one I guess) if You’re interested and even stream from time to time when I’m working)
